To load 25,800 tons of metallurgical coal, was in town the MV Daiwan Wisdom, was built in Japan, being his first trip to Latin lands.
The vessel arrived on Saturday and finished loading on Monday at midnight, very early yesterday and sailed with the mineral for various international markets.
The MV has a length of 185 meters and 29.4 meters wide, with deadweight of 32,000 tons.
She arrived at port Michellamar, located on Route 40 (VIA 40), where she was loading the coal came from the areas of Boyacá. The cargo exported is of the company Colombian Coal SA
Michellmar manager, Michael Garcia, said that the loading operation was very fast, started on Saturday at 2 pm and ended on Monday. This ship was launched to water on 8th June and its first call was to Venezuela, where he left a cargo and then called to Barranquilla, where he came for the coal.
"The miners of Boyacá are supporting to port Michellmar in order that through this port can sail the coals that is extracted from their tunnels," said Garcia.
The businessman revealed that this maritime terminal moved 80,000 tons of coal this year.
The 2010 has been a boom for the coal so far this year sent a lot of mineral due to the international demand.
The Michellmar's manager announced that the company works in the process of direct loading, as has ordered by the National Government.
"We depend on a number of authorizations granted by ministries, which are the approved schedule," said the executive.
But he believes that in 2012 will be implemented the direct load. The investment would be $ 1.5 million.
