Institucion Educativa El Carmen No.2- Cienaga (Educational Institution The Carmen No.2 - Cienaga)

This institution was created in the year 1976 under the name of ESCUELA GUILLERMO F. MORAN  (Guillermo F. Moran School) with the purpose of offering education to children of low means of the community of Brisas del Mar (Breezes of the Sea). In its beginnings, the small school was built thanks to the donation of a lot on the part of Mrs. Modest Caguana and with the support of the Rotary Club of Cienaga and the Council of Communal Action, gave way to the construction of 4 classrooms to assist the existent school population.

LBH COLOMBIA LTDA. began its work with the EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION THE CARMEN No.2 – CIENAGA from the year 2008, donating the furnishings for the children’s dining room (refrigerator, glasses, pots, plates, cups, pans and cutlery) and with the immediate fixing of the sewer system, since the waste waters were flooding the bathrooms and the patio of the facility.

 

Currently and during most of 2010, our contribution to this school will be concentrated on the upgrade of the infraestructura which is badly needed.
