Coal Cargoes & Ports
CARBOSAN
Carbosan is the operator for the coal berth at SPR Santa Marta where steam coal is loaded via conveyor belt system. Docks used for loading coal are 6 and 7. Cargo comes into the port by trucks. Average loading rate is about 1300 Mt/Hr. This terminal is for the exclusive use of Glencore and CoalCorp.
Sociedad Portuaria de Santa Marta is a multipurpose port in Santa Marta in side of which is located Carbosan. This port is planning to increase their operations in all related fields, such as containers, grains, cars and of course coal.
