Coal Cargoes & Ports
PUERTO DRUMMOND
Is the largest port located in the Zúñiga’s area. The port is located about 10 km away from Cienaga town between the highway and the coastline. The coal from Drummond comes out of La Loma mine located in Cesar and by 2009 also from the El Descanso mine. It counts with a circular railway, discharging wagons and a mechanical coal stocker. Loading is done with barges which are loaded alongside a pier then shuttled to the mooring buoy systems (7 in total) where the coal is loaded unto vessels moored at about 4 to 6 NM from the coastline.
Commercial Loading rate: 25000 mts per day for all type of vessels
